Biles along with the younger of her sisters Adria was taken in by Ronald Biles as well as Nellie Biles' grandparents in Spring Texas (in the Houston area) and grew up in the Houston area. Simone was introduced to the sport of gymnastics through her teacher at daycare Aimee Borman, when she was just six years old. She was a student at Bannon's Gymnastix for a total of 11 years. Biles took home the gold medal in the floor and vault competitions at the women's Junior Olympic National Championships before moving up to the highest level of competition in 2011. Her dominance in the sport came less than two year later.
